PUBLIC NOTICE TO ALL INTERESTED TRIBAL MEMBERS
INDIAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (ICDBG) FOR MOLD REMEDIATION AND PREVENTION PUBLIC PARTICIPATION PROCESS FOR FY2015
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has published a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for Indian Community Development Block Grant Mold Remediation and Prevention (ICDBG) program for FY2015. Application deadline is June 24, 2015 for eligible applicants that include Indian Tribes or tribal organizations. ICDBG funds are made available by HUD for a variety of projects which benefit primarily low and moderate income persons.
Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation is considering submitting an application to rehabilitate homes effected with mold as well as provide education for current tenants and homeowners on how to prevent mold. Project would be appx. $160,000/year for 5 years.
Tolowa Dee-ni’ Nation will conduct a meeting for public comment, as part of the open Council meeting, beginning at 6:00pm on June 9, 2015 at Howonquet Hall Community Center, 101 Indian Court, Smith River, CA 95567. All interested Tribal citizens are invited to attend the meeting.
