2020 General Election Will Be Conducted By Absentee Ballot Only

In an effort to keep Tribal Membership and employees’ safe the Tribal Council under their authority in the Constitution and operating under the emergency declaration established through Resolution 2020-19 motioned to conduct the 2020 General Election by absentee ballot only.

Registered voters will receive one large envelope containing all of this year’s election information as well as their absentee ballot.

Ballots can be returned three ways:

1. By US mail at PO Box 1080, Smith River, CA 95567;

2. Dropped off at the Tribal Office external drop box – on the porch, to the left of the main door –located at 140 Rowdy creek Road in Smith River, CA 95567 by Close Business on May 15, 2020; or

3. On Election Day at the Howonquet Hall drop box from 8AM-3PM.

As a reminder, Tribal Members who are not registered to vote have until May 1, 2020 to register to vote.
