From Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO)

New Hotel Staffing
Last month I encouraged members to fill out an employment application with the Rancheria/Casino which is in addition to the “Skills Bank” form. With the Hotel scheduled to open next May, now would be a good time to get an employment application on file with the Casino. As a new operation the Ho-tel will need a full complement of staffing from management, guest services (front desk), housekeeping, laundry attend, to night auditor.

Tribal Employment Rights Office
The Tribal Employment Rights Office maintains a “Skills Bank” from which referrals are made as jobs and training opportunities become available. Many of the Skill Bank forms on file are five to six years old, with many address and phone number changes since then. Submitting a new Skills Bank form tells me how to reach you as well as additional skills acquired. If you will, go to the Rancheria’s web site, http://www.tolowa-nsn.gov/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/NEW-SKILLS-BANK-FORM-2008-2-15.pdf , to obtain a fillable “Skills Bank” form. After completing the form, either print out a hard copy and mail it to Darrell Moorehead at 140 Rowdy Creek Road, Smith River, California 95567 or save a copy on your computer, then e-mail it to me at Darrell.Moorehead@Tolowa.com . The information on the “Skills Bank” form is for TERO use.

Insurance Counseling
A few months ago I counseled a Tribal Member seeking funding to buy an Allstate Insurance agency. He successfully purchased the agency and in return, is offering Rancheria Tribal Members information on different kinds of insurance and how much to purchase. Jason Piazza will be at Howonquet Hall Community Center January 18th at 6:00 pm to answer any questions you regarding insurance you have or thinking of getting.
