Presently Chit-xu Mee-ne’, the Fifield Street Project, is in the developmental stages. A conceptual drawing has been designed and the City of Brookings has given an informal approval so that working drawings can go ahead and be developed. Once the working drawings have been approved and all the permitting has been addressed, site work and infrastructure installation can commence.
See-waa-dvn, the Adult Community Center (formerly Elder Housing), is for all intents and purposes completed. Grading of the site is completed and we are working on getting the lawn established along with minor trim installation on the interior of the apartments. Occupancy is foremost at this time and interest has increased with the construction noise and dust ending. The question of privacy has been a concern and the Housing Dept. will install field fencing and plant hedges to cover the fencing between the upper and lower units. There will be a privacy fence installed along the westerly property line for security of the occupants of ACC.
