MIS/IT

Overview

The MIS Department has accepted and responded to over 1000 requests and project orders throughout 2006. We have developed a new department, moved and setup new offices, acquired new staff, and deployed a great deal of new technology. We are finding that our challenges are not in the introduction of new technology, but in the communication and deployment of that technology to our customers.
In the last quarter of 2006, we have configured and deployed more infrastructure and upgraded more of the network core than all work done for the Smith River Rancheria in the 5 previous years. There has been a great deal of planning to get to this point and the benefits will become more visible as we move forward. We still have a great deal of work to do in expanding and developing our technology to support our current staff. Priorities like security policy and protection, internal use policy, application development, collaboration, information management, anti-virus technology, website content access & filtering, standardization, remote access, and many other necessary elements to our technology plan have been or are being designed. These services are essential to our progress as an organization.
