The SRR IT Department is dedicated to delivering the most advanced innovation and technology to the Smith River Rancheria. Our vision is to build a bridge between humans and computers through advancements in data technology. We believe that effective communication between humans and machines is the key to the future of the success of the Smith River Rancheria. To implement this vision, the SRR IT Department has developed a set of goals built around the need to maintain an innovation-centric Tribal culture designed to promote and develop the creativity of each employee and maximize our ability to meet the needs of the Smith River Rancheria.

Programs and Projects

  • Maintenance and management of the entire data distribution system at both the Casino and the Tribal Administration offices.
  • Maintain Network connectivity to all of our facilities through various methods of connectivity. i.e Fiber Optics, Tunnels over Charter, Wireless Radio connections.
  • Paramount to all of our needs, are the backups and restoration functions. With the level of complexity the Smith River Rancheria Data structure has come to be, backup procedures are a significant importance in the data stream structure. There is no way to guarantee 100% no failure with hardware. So, with that said, backups play a significant role in maintaining up time.
  • Thorough understanding of the applications available to the organization. We strive to maintain a high level of competence to allow us to answer the needs of our end users as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Refreshing computers and network equipment on a routine schedule to make sure you are functional the most efficiently possible.
  • Our GIS (Geographical Information Services) Division allows us to deliver mapping information to anyone with a need, such as Natural Resources or our housing department.

Mission

” We strive to make sure your daily tasks are met with the utilization of modern
technology. When something goes down or an application develops a problem,
we are here to troubleshoot the issue and resolve it in a timely fashion.” ~ Darryl Yarak
